Pushing the Limits of Habitation: Read, View & Discuss Science
November 2, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Pushing the Limits is a free, reading, viewing and discussion series co-hosted by your librarian and a “science advocate”. Our series is designed to encourage adults in our community to see the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) that is all around them and part of their everyday lives. Participants will explore the theme through the discussion of the book, Artemis, by Andy Weir.
There will be a brief summary of the book and screening of a short video. Vilas County Conservation Specialist, Quita Sheehan, will facilitate the science end of things focusing on habitat and survival on our planet. We have free copies of the book to give to the first eight (8) registered participants.
The program is free, but pre-registration is required. Additional copies are available for check out and available in a variety of formats, including audio, digital and print copies. Space is limited and going fast, so don’t wait too long. For more information, contact the library at 479-8070. Pushing the Limits is a project made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
